About the GRCVB

This web site is operated and maintained by the Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau's sports marketing department. GRCVB sports marketing, founded in 1998, is responsible for creating economic development within our community by identifying and bringing sporting events to Raleigh and Wake County. It is our aim to work closely and effectively with event rights-holders and planners, making potential sporting events turn into successful sporting events held here, in North Carolina 's Capital City area.

GRCVB sports marketing works closely with a multitude of local partners, including professional sports franchises, colleges and universities, parks and recreation departments, and dozens of venues, facilities and area sports organizations. Over the last six years, GRCVB sports marketing has assisted in bringing more than 175 events to the Raleigh area, with a combined economic impact of more than $104 million.

GRCVB offers a full-range of services to sports event planners.

Mission Statement

The Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau is a non-profit agency that promotes Raleigh and Wake County for all types of visitor business to enhance economic growth and development of the area. (GRCVB is funded by a portion of the Wake County hotel occupancy tax and a portion of the Wake County prepared food and beverage tax.
